Tehran has summoned the Dutch ambassador and condemned the Netherlands’ decision to deport two Iranian diplomats.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi called the expulsion "unfriendly and unconstructive" and warned that Iran had the right to take reciprocal measures, according to Reuters, who cite the IRNA.
A senior Iranian official told Reuters the expulsions are aimed at harming Iranian efforts to salvage their nuclear deal. However, the expulsions also came soon after Belgium, France and Germany said they detained six people over an alleged bomb plot targeting a rally organised by an Iranian opposition group in Paris.
