Georgia names new prosecutor general

Shalva Tadumadze has been elected Georgia’s new prosecutor general, AzVision.az reports citing Georgian media.

Tadumadze’s candidacy as prosecutor general was supported by the council of prosecutors of Georgia’s Justice Ministry.

Tadumadze was the head of the government administration. His election must be approved by the parliament.

Former Georgian prosecutor general Irakli Shotadze resigned in the wake of the Tbilisi City Court verdict on the high profile murder case of two teenage boys in central Tbilisi in December last year.
