They expressed concern over the fact that no criminal cases on the death of soldiers are opened, saying that they are waiting for Prosecutor General Gevorq Kostanyan’s annual report at the parliament.
“Mothers of the soldiers would like to know how the prosecutor general is going to explain why no criminal cases are opened, and whether MPs are going to raise an issue on crimes within the army,” eprees.am said.
Republic MP Samvel Farmanyan, who, unlike his colleagues, stopped to listen to the protesters. Farmanyan said that no words could console the grief of a parent who has lost a son. According to the MP, he knows the pain, his cousin died in the army, too.
“I can only promise to raise the issue on your behalf when the Prosecutor General presents his report to the National Assembly,” Farmanyan said.
