Azerbaijan’s National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) has released information on demining operations conducted in Azerbaijan's Absheron, Aghdam, Aghjabedi, Aghstafa, Jabrayil, Dashkesen, Fuzuli, Goranboy, Goygol, Khojavend, Gazakh, Garadag, Lenkaran, Terter, Tovuz districts, Ganja and Sumgayit cities in July 2018.
During the reporting period, an area of 424,299 sq m was inspected. As a result, 168 unexploded ordnance, 2 anti-personnel mines and 3 anti-tank mines (173 in total) were discovered and safely disarmed, the Agency told reporters.
The operations involved 486 personnel, 134 administrative staff, 6 mechanical demining machines and 40 mine-detection dogs.
So far, a total of 529,515,651 sq m area has been demined and 797,096 mines and UXOs have been neutralized.
No mine/UXO incident was recorded last month.
