The statement came from the Minister of Youth and Sport of Azerbaijan Azad Rahimov speaking to "Vestnik Kavkaza" at the presentation of the first European Games of Baku held in Moscow.
"I will never forget how in December 2012 President of the Olympic Committee of Russia, Mr. Zhukov arrived just for a few hours in Rome, voted in favor of Baku, with the idea of holding the Games, and returned to Moscow. And we see this support at every stage. We use the experinece of the Sochi Olympiad," the Minister said.
"By the way, a team which prepared the Games in Sochi is now working with us, there are a lot of experts from Russia. Therefore, the presentation is primarily an opportunity for Russian sports fans to learn more about the Games and, of course, on June 12 this year, to turn on the TV and watch the opening ceremony," the head of the Ministry of Youth and Sport of Azerbaijan concluded.
