“The struggle against cyber threats is developing rapidly, as a result of strong economic growth in Azerbaijan,” said Gaya Mammadov, Head of International Security Department at the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, APA reports.

Mammadov said that as cyberspace is wide and dynamic, it should also cover issues regulating interstate relations like territorial integrity and principles of independence:

“Unfortunately, there is no international consensus in this sphere. We hope that the UN works in this field will give positive results,” the department head added.

The ministry’s official said cybersecurity is a significant part of Azerbaijan`s foreign policy, noting that Azerbaijan intends to use advanced experiences in this field.
