Various projects are expected to be presented as part of the Days of Culture to last till 7 July. Azerbaijan takes part in the Cannes festival Art of Pyrotechnics for the first time.
In this festival held since 1967 beautiful illuminations appear in the unity of colors and music.
On 4 July a group of illuminators from Azerbaijan demonstrated show "Azerbaijan in music and colors" accompanied by waltz from Gara Garayev`s ballet "Seven Beauties", symphonic mugam "Rast" by Niyazi and "Shur" by Fikrat Amirov, a song "Azerbaijan" by Muslum Magomayev and other classical music and songs by composers especially for this show.
The Azerbaijani jazz will also be performed here today. Shahin Novrasli, Isfar Sarabski and Sabina Babayeva will perform popular Azerbaijani jazz compositions.
An event of classic music will take place in France on 6 July as part of the project of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation aimed at preserving and promoting Azerbaijani culture all over the world.
On the same day Azerbaijan State Symphonic Orchestra named after Uzeyir Hajibayli will perform "Caravan" by Soltan Hajibeyov, overture to the opera "Koroglu" by Uzeyir Hajibayli, folk songs and songs by various composers.
Each project submitted to the Days of Culture of Azerbaijan will enable to get better acquainted with the ancient history of the country, its traditions, art. On these days the local people and tourists will have an opportunity to learn more about the country through various exhibitions. The exhibitions Maiden Tower and Jeyrani are of special importance among them. The exhibition devoted to Maiden Tower will feature small models of one of the most ancient monuments of Azerbaijan decorated with national ornaments by artists from different countries.
The project Jeyrani sponsored as part of the environment project initiated by Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva differs for its originality and unique idea. The exhibition which will last 20 days will present models of gazelles, unusually beautiful animals, painted by artists from around the world to draw attention to those endangered animals.
The similar works by President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and Vice President of the Foundation Leyla Aliyeva are also exhibited among many others.
The exhibition "Cultural values of pearl of the Caucasus - Azerbaijan" and "Exhibition of emotion," organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and consisting of works of contemporary art in Azerbaijan are of great importance in terms of promoting the country, its cultural richness and contemporary art.
The Day of National Cuisine, which will be accompanied by a special show, will present residents of Cannes with the culinary culture and traditions of Azerbaijan, hospitality of the Azerbaijani people. This project will provide a wealth of information about the history and philosophy of each dish of Azerbaijani national cuisine.
The program scheduled for 7 July will be about history of the national films of Azerbaijan. One of the pearls of Azerbaijan’s national filmography “Arshin mal alan” (“The cloth peddler”) will be displayed on 7 July.
Days of Culture will end on with an open-air concert program on 7 July. The rhythmic band "Natig" and Azerbaijan State Dance Ensemble will perform the rhythms of the Land of Fire for the audience. Azerbaijani mugam will also be sung at the concert.
Heydar Aliyev Foundation has prepared a special edition in Azerbaijani, English and French languages in connection with the Days of Culture. They contain information about rich cultural heritage of Azerbaijan and its contemporary art.
