Azerbaijan`s development increases need to prevent cybercrimes
Active economic development of Azerbaijan, which is accompanied by modernization of infrastructure, as well as the introduction of information technologies in private and public sectors, increases the need to prevent cybercrimes, OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Baku Ambassador Alexis Chahtahtinsky said Apr.13 at a conference on cyber security as well as national security.

He said that three million people use the Internet. Some people use the Internet for business purposes, some - to pay for services, but many are concerned about the safety of cash payments.

“Many people still fear of cyber attacks,” he said.

The conference is organized by OSCE Office Co-ordinator in Baku and the Azerbaijani foreign ministry. Its main purpose is to discuss issues related to cybersecurity, legislation in this area.
