President Aliyev meets Kyrgyz counterpart in Cholpon-Ata

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov had a meeting on September 3 in the city of Cholpon-Ata.

Jeenbekov welcomed Aliyev in Issyk-Kul and said the country finds it very important to develop further the fraternal relations with Azerbaijan. He congratulated Aliyev on the 100th anniversary of the Azerbaijani Democratic Republic.

He also thanked Aliyev for the visit despite earlier planned official trip.

Aliyev, for his part, thanked for inviting to Issyk-Kul, a "unique natural monument that pleases Kyrgyzstanis and everyone who comes here."

He pointed out the importance of the summit and congratulated Kyrgyzstan on hosting it.

"I attach great importance to cooperation with Kyrgyzstan and we intend to enlarge our cooperation in all fields: political, economic, transport," Aliyev said. 

He also invited Jeenbekov to visit Azerbaijan.

They also discussed implementation of bilateral agreements.

Jeenbekov invited Aliyev to pay a state visit to Kyrgyzstan.
