Iranian plane makes urgent landing due to technical problem
An Iranian airplane traveling to the country`s south western city of Ahwaz forced to make urgent landing after experiencing technical problems.
The airplane made an urgent landing in Ahwaz international airport last night,, Iran `s official IRNA news agency reported April 14.

The Boeing MD- type airplane belongs to the Islamic Republic’s Iran Air tour airlines.
Reportedly the airplane which was carrying 150 passengers faced a failure in opening one of the plane`s wheels.

Iran has suffered a series of airplane crashes, blamed on its aging aircraft and poor maintenance.

In the latest incident an Iranian passenger plane crashed last August moments after takeoff from the Mehrabad Airport in Iran . Thirty-seven people, including six children, lost their lives on the spot while two others died in a Tehran hospital. Nine others suffered serious burns leaving several in critical condition.

Western sanctions prevent Iran from updating its US aircrafts and make it difficult to get European spare parts or planes. The country has come to rely on Russian aircraft, many of them Soviet-era planes.
