President Ilham Aliyev received delegation led by Xinhua editor-in-chief - UPDATED

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by Editor-in-Chief of Xinhua News Agency of the People’s Republic of China He Ping, who has a ministerial status.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev expressed his confidence that the cooperation between Azerbaijan State News Agency and China’s Xinhua News Agency would expand following the visit of a delegation led by Editor-in-Chief of Xinhua. President Ilham Aliyev noted the positive outcomes of his visit to China for the two countries highlighting the successful bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and China.

Besides, Aliyev touched on the opportunities for the two countries to develop trade relations emphasizing the increase in export. Furthermore, he stated that Chinese citizens could travel to Azerbaijan with E-visa mentioning the prospects for building cooperation in the field of tourism.  In this regard, the president stressed the role of news agencies and media in the development of tourism.

He Ping, Editor-in-Chief of Xinhua News Agency thanked President Ilham Aliyev and said that he highly appreciates the president’s attention to the development of Azerbaijan-China ties. He Ping highlighted that Azerbaijani President’s meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in 2015 and cooperation agreements signed between the sides supported the development of bilateral relations between the two countries.

In addition, He Ping stressed the significance of the expanding cooperation stating the importance of the cooperation agreements between Azerbaijan State News Agency and Xinhua. Moreover, he said that the relations between Azerbaijan and China developed within the “One Belt, One Road” program.
