President Aliyev receives delegation led by Austrian vice-chancellor - UPDATED

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by Vice-Chancellor of the Republic of Austria Heinz-Christian Strache.

Pointing out very successful development of Austria-Azerbaijan relations, President Ilham Aliyev recalled his official visit to Austria and former Austrian President Heinz Fischer's visit to Azerbaijan, AzVision.az reports.

Talking about the economic cooperation between the countries, President Ilham Aliyev said that several Austrian companies have been successfully operating in Azerbaijan for many years.

The President expressed his confidence that the visit of the Austrian delegation led by Vice-Chancellor Heinz-Christian Strache will contribute to the expansion of this cooperation and discussions held on cooperation in sports, transport and other spheres will contribute to the development of bilateral relations between the countries. 

Heinz-Christian Strache Vice-Chancellor of Austria extended Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz’s greetings to the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. Heinz-Christian Strache noted that the visit of the Austrian delegation to Azerbaijan aims to deepen and contribute to the Azerbaijan-Austria ties. Furthermore, Strache highlighted the importance of the visits exchanged between officials of the two countries in terms of the development of the bilateral relations. Besides, he offered to establish a council and to hold regular council meetings in order to expand the cooperation in economic and other fields, to discuss strategic issues and to implement joint projects. In addition, he stated that Austria is interested in involving investments from the EU, bringing Austrian technology to Azerbaijan and exporting products from Azerbaijan to Austria.

Ilham Aliyev thanked for the greetings of the Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz and asked Heinz-Christian Strache to extend his greetings to Austrian federal councillor.
