Considering the launching of Southern Gas Corridor in 2020 in Baku, Azerbaijan has nominated for chairmanship over the Energy Charter Conference. Except Azerbaijan, Armenia and Mongolia also nominated their chairmanship of the Conference in 2020.
However, as a result of Azerbaijan's persistent activity, negotiations and diplomatic moves, our country has been chosen as the most appropriate candidate for the chairmanship. Armenia and Mongolia agreed to chair the conference in 2021 and 2022 respectively.
