Expected volume of gas supplies for 2018 via TANAP announced

One billion cubic meters of gas will be delivered to Turkey via the Trans-Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP) in 2018, the general director of SOCAR Turkey Energy Zaur Gahramanov told the Turkish Anadolu news agency.

Some 400 million cubic meters of gas has already been delivered to Turkey through the pipeline, the general director said.

"In 2019, two billion cubic meters of gas will be supplied to Turkey via TANAP. This figure will reach four billion in 2020, and six billion in 2021. The construction of the second phase of the project is completed by 97 percent, and in the 2H2019, TANAP will be connected to the Trans Adriatic gas pipeline," Gahramanov said.

Speaking about other Azerbaijani projects in Turkey, he said that the commissioning ceremony of the STAR oil refinery will take place in November. The plant will work in full capacity from January 2019.

The launching ceremony of the first stage of the Southern Gas Corridor project was held in Baku on May 29.

A ceremony to launch TANAP took place June 12 in the Turkish city of Eskisehir.

The gas from the Azerbaijani Shah Deniz field has already gone through the first segment of the Southern Gas Corridor - from the Sangachal terminal to the expanded South Caucasus Pipeline.

The next stage is the commissioning of the TANAP gas pipeline, through which gas will flow into Turkey and further to Europe.
