France's Naval Group will sign a contract with Azerbaijan on order of three Adroit-class patrol vessels.

The contract's value is estimated at around 400-500 million Euro, Defence. az reports citing foreign media.

The order comprises of sale of three Gowind patrol vessels for civil-military operations. The OPV-90 will be constructed jointly at Baku Shipyard, the local construction site on the shores of the Caspian Sea.

These ships will be less armored and enable Azerbaijan to safeguard its sector and natural resources in the Caspian Sea. The OPV-90 has a platform of 140 square meters, a ground for 10-ton helicopter and a hangar for  5-ton helicopter. Two rigid-hulled inflatable boats are placed in the lower part of the deck.

At the request of the Azerbaijani Navy, the ship will be equipped with additional functions. Thus, anti-ship missile device, missile defence system and anti-war device will be placed at its front. Besides, the ship will be equipped with stabilizers to ensure increased stiffness during storm.
