Next year, 34 cities and regions of Azerbaijan to switch to self-sufficiency

Starting next year, 34 cities and regions of Azerbaijan, including Ganja, Mingachevir, Sumgait, Lankaran, Naftalan, Sheki, Shirvan, Yevlakh cities, Absheron, Agjabedi, Agdash, Astara, Beylagan, Barda, Bilasuvar, Goychay, Hajigabul, Khachmaz, Imishli, Ismayilli, Kurdamir, Gazakh, Gabala, Guba, Gubadli, Gusar, Masalli, Neftchala, Saatli, Sabirabad, Salyan, Siyazan, Shabran and Shamakhi regions will switch to self-sufficiency.

This is reflected in the bills included in the budget package of Azerbaijan for 2019.

The local revenues, which are integral part of the state budget revenues of 2019 (including the part related to the city of Baku), have been projected for the next year in the amount of 736.8 million manats, which is by 83.4 million manats or 12.8 percent more compared to the current year.

The share in local incomes of the financial assistance (subsidies) allocated from the centralized state budget expenditures in order to regulate the local spending will be 12.4 percent the next year, which is 2.6 percent more compared to the current year.
