The All-Russian Museum of Decorative Art in Moscow will open the 'Seven beauties' exhibition on November 21, 2018. The exhibition was organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Azerbaijan's Ministry of culture and the Azerbaijan Carpet Museum, with the support of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Russia. Exposition will gather exhibits from collections of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Azerbaijan carpet Museum and the State Museum of Musical Culture of Azerbaijan.

Concept of the exhibition is based on the poem of the Azerbaijani poet of the 12th century Nizami Ganjavi titled 'Seven beauties' and the ballet of the same name by the world famous composer Kara Karayev. The project comprehensively presents Azerbaijani culture in the synthesis of carpet, jewelry, miniature, national classical music, classical dance and contemporary art, according to the website of the All-Russian Museum of Decorative Art.

The exhibition space immerses the viewer into the legend of the seven beauties and Shah Bahram. The philosophical world of this important literary work for Azerbaijani culture will be recreated through the carpets, projections of book miniatures, objects of decorative and applied art, installations. The exhibition also includes scenes from the ballet Kara Karaeva 'Seven beauties', written on the basis of the poem by Nizami Ganjavi, and archival materials on this staging.

The curators of the project are advisor to the Heydar Aliyev Foundation on Culture and Art Emin Mammadov and the director Of the Azerbaijan Carpet Museum, chairman of the National Committee of ICOM Azerbaijan Shirin Melikova.
