State Department: US will continue support programs that promote reconciliation
The assistance budget of the United States is a reflection of our efforts to respond to ongoing and emerging national security challenges, including new global developments over the past year, the Department of State said.
“Funding to many countries worldwide was significantly reduced. This in no way reflects the quality of the programs that have been implemented or the strength of our relationships,” the State Department said.

According to the statement, work is underway with Congress to finalize the Department’s foreign assistance allocations for FY 2015.

“We will continue to support Track II programs that promote reconciliation,” the State Department noted.

Richard Mills, the US ambassador to Armenia, said a few days ago that there will be some decrease in the number of the US Embassy PR department’s cultural programs as well as those being implemented for the Armenia-Azerbaijan and Armenia-Turkey.
