The historians are those who have competency to make comments on the issues which have happened in the past, he said, adding that politicians in turn should be making statements to decrease tensions and help resolve conflicts.
“The historic issues which can lead to disputes between the countries should not be raised by politicians,” Pak Ayeen emphasized.
Armenia and the Armenian lobby claim that Turkey`s predecessor, the Ottoman Empire allegedly carried out ”genocide” against the Armenians living in Anatolia in 1915. Turkey in turn has always denied "the genocide" took place.
While strengthening the efforts to promote the "genocide" in the world, Armenians have achieved its recognition by the parliaments of some countries.
Turkey has repeatedly said it stands ready to open archives to find out the truth about the 1915 events and called on Armenia to create a joint commission for this matter. However, Armenia ignores the offer.
