Turkish PM warns against political assessment of 1915 events
The political assessment of the historical events of 1915 can lead to dangerous consequences, Milliyet newspaper reported with reference to Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu April 22.
“While Turkey is calling for forgetting about the common pain of Turks and Armenians for the sake of future, the Armenian diaspora promotes hostility towards Turkey,” he said.

He said that the essence of the Armenian diaspora is a hostile attitude towards Turkey.

Davutoglu has recently made a statement that Turkey mourns only for the Armenian civilians, who suffered during the events of 1915 as the representatives of other nations.

Armenia and the Armenian lobby claim that Turkey`s predecessor, the Ottoman Empire allegedly carried out ”genocide” against the Armenians living in Anatolia in 1915. Turkey in turn has always denied "the genocide" took place. While strengthening the efforts to promote the "genocide" in the world, Armenians have achieved its recognition by the parliaments of some countries.
