Library of Alexandria hosts conference on Azerbaijani poet Nizami Ganjavi
A conference dedicated to the great Azerbaijani poet and thinker Nizami Ganjavi was held at the Library of Alexandria, Egypt.
Nizami Ganjavi International Center was the organizer of the event. Governor of Alexandria Hani Youssef Mohamed al-Messiri, Library’s director Ismail Serageldin, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Egypt Shahin Abullayev and the Center’s members – the former presidents of Bulgaria, Romania, Albania, Columbia, former OIC Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, ANAS Oriental Studies Institute director Govhar Bakhshalieva, Egyptian scientists, political and public figures were present at the conference.

Serageldin made a speech about Nizami’s heritage and his contributions to the world literature and culture. Bakshaliyeva touched upon the humanist values in Nizami’s works.

After the conference, the bust of Nizami Ganjavi donated by the Azerbaijani Embassy to the Library was erected here.
