The ambassador is expected to leave for Ankara for consultations.

Turkey recalled its ambassador from Vienna yesterday as a response to the decision of Austria on the 1915 events.

“The statement of the Austrian parliament on the 1915 events was met in Turkey with indignation, as it is contrary to historical facts and groundlessly accuses the Turkish people of crimes,” Turkey’s foreign ministry said in a message.

“In this regard, having informed Austria’s ambassador in Ankara about our opinion, it was decided to recall the Turkish ambassador in Vienna, Hasan Gogus for consultations,” said the ministry.
