Powerful earthquake hits Nepal - V?DEO
7.9-magnitude quake hits Himalayan nation, causing tremors in northern India and Bangladesh
A heavy earthquake hit Nepal on Saturday morning with tremors felt as far away as New Delhi.

The 7.9-magnitude earthquake had its epicenter 80 kilometers northwest of the capital, Kathmandu, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

No casualties have yet been reported but are feared after the powerful quake, which caused buildings to collapse. Tremors were felt 800 km (500 miles) from the epicenter.

Images shared on social media showed collapsed buildings and roads split by the shock.

"Most new high rises in #Kathmandu ok, old buildings down. Temples reduced to rubble," Kunda Dixit, the editor of the Nepali Times newspaper, posted on Twitter. "Aftershocks were major jolts almost as severe as the main quake."

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi reacted to the news of the earthquake on Twitter: "We are in the process of finding more information and are working to reach out to those affected, both at home & in Nepal."
