 Armenia National Security Service reveals corruption offense involving police officer

Armenia’s National Security Service has disclosed a corruption offense involving a police officer, the Armenian media reports. 

According to the case file, the forester of HAYANTAR SNPO reached a deal with the director and they organized illegal logging, export and sale.

For this purpose, he solicited payment of bribes amounting to 300 thousand AMD. The forester bribed the deputy head of the Stepanavan police department for 150 thousand AMD in order not to meddle in business.

A criminal case has been initiated in this regard. Three citizens were charged, two of them were arrested and one was released on recognizance.
