 Law violations recorded in first half-year
Over 5.8 thousand customs law violations recorded in first half-year
State Customs Committee (SCC) of Azerbaijan recorded 5821 facts of administrative law violation, SCC reported on Monday.
According to the report, 65 offenses were related to the attempts of illegal transportation, 122 - undeclared transportation of items, goods or money, 4913- failures to submit relevant documents.

Moreover, 144 customs law violation facts were recorded during January-June of 2013, which create a basis for criminal prosecution.

Some 113 recorded facts were related to smuggling and 74 facts were related to illegal drug trafficking, the report says. Some 62.96 kilograms of drug, as well as 83.36 grams of psychotropic substances were seized during the report period.
In addition, seven facts of imports in the absence of tax stamps were recorded.

Some 168 people were detained as suspects in January-June on all above-mentioned facts.
