Britain’s coronavirus cases exceed 233 thousand

The coronavirus death toll has increased by 428 in Great Britain, taking the total number of fatalities up to 33,614.

Some 3,446 new cases of coronavirus were reported on Thursday by the Department of Health and Social Care. There have now been 233,151 positive tests in the country.

The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) emerged in late 2019 in China’s Hubei province, and the virus has spread to 212 countries and territories since then.

To date, COVID-19 cases surpassed 4.4 million globally, resulting in more than 1.6 million recoveries and over 298,000 deaths.

On February 11, the WHO officially named the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) as COVID-19, and on March 11, declared it a pandemic.
