Italy’s ex-FM sends letter to Azerbaijani president

Former Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs Franco Frattini has sent a letter to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

The letter reads:

“Dear Mr. President,

With shock I heard about the recent shellings and killings in Ganja city, Nagorno-Karabakh and the casualties incurred including children, bringing about unexpected escalation of Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict.

As a member of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center I express my condolences and also deep concern for the situation at hand.

Everyone should respect international especially UN Security Council resolutions.

The members of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center are also willing to provide support in form of our expertise and combined experience, if so required and useful to a lasting and peaceful settlement.

Even and especially in situations like this dialogue at all levels are needed. We are ready to support you in this endeavour.
