Azerbaijan`s gold reserves increase over two times
Gold reserves in Azerbaijan increased by two times at the expenses of the deposits discovered in recent years, Azerbaijani Ecology and Natural Resources Minister Huseyngulu Bagirov said in an interview to the official website of the New Azerbaijan Party on Wednesday.
The minister noted that lately, 10 years of serious successes were achieved in geological exploration works.

Some 192 different purpose deposits were included into the balance in 25 regions of the country.

Production process was organized at the expenses of gold deposits, which were included into the balance, and Azerbaijan became a gold producing country.

Bagirov mentioned that large amounts of platinum, gold, copper and zinc were discovered in copper-multimetallic ores in Gadabay through geophysical exploration methods.

The minister underscored that certain successes were achieved in environmental protection. In the last 10 years, revenue of the State Environmental Protection Fund increased by 1.8 million manats.
