Ericsson to suspend business in Russia

Ericsson will suspend its activities in Russia, the Swedish producer of telecommunication equipment said in a statement on Monday, AzVision.az reports citing TASS.

"In late February, Ericsson suspended all deliveries to customers in Russia. In the light of recent events and of European Union sanctions, the company will now suspend its affected business with customers in Russia indefinitely. Ericsson is engaging with customers and partners regarding the indefinite suspension of the affected business. The priority is to focus on the safety and well-being of Ericsson employees in Russia and they will be placed on paid leave," the statement said.

The cost of suspension of the company’s operations in Russia in the first quarter of 2022 is estimated at 900 mln Swedish kronas ($95.33 mln), with no staff redundancy cost included, Ericsson said.
