The presentation ceremony of the English-language version of the book “100 moments of Heydar Aliyev's life” has been held in Istanbul, Türkiye, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Heydar Aliyev, the founder of the independent state of Azerbaijan, brilliant politician and powerful statesman. The book has been published in the Azerbaijani and English languages as part of the international project titled “Publication of books dedicated to the legacy of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev”.
Well-known public and political figures, officials, statesmen, MPs, representatives of the academic and cultural community, and the media attended the ceremony jointly organized by the Marmara Group Strategic and Social Research Foundation and “My Azerbaijan” international magazine at the Press Museum of the “Turkish Union of Journalists”.
The ceremony participants first paid tributes of respect to the memories of Heydar Aliyev, the founder of the modern Republic of Azerbaijan, and Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder of the Republic of Türkiye, as well as heroic martyrs.
The national anthems of Azerbaijan and Türkiye were played.
Speaking at the ceremony, the corresponding member of the International Academy of Sciences, the chairman of the Editorial Board of the book “100 moments of Heydar Aliyev’s life”, the author of the publication, and well-known publisher, Emil Nasirli, noted that National Leader Heydar Aliyev, who lived a meaningful life, dedicated most of his life to Azerbaijan’s independence, the country’s development and prosperous future of its people. Therefore, the grateful people of Azerbaijan always cherish the memory of this outstanding personality in their hearts. Just as the world-famous statesman worked for the independence of Azerbaijan in the latter part of his political power, he made tremendous effort for the unity, solidarity and joint development of the Turkic world and the Azerbaijan-Türkiye brotherhood. These services have left an indelible mark of Heydar Aliyev in the hearts of the Turkic people.
In remarks at the ceremony, Professor Akkan Suver, the Chairman of the Marmara Group Strategic and Social Research Foundation, spoke extensively about his memories of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev. He said he was sure that the visionary strategy laid down by the National Leader would contribute to the unity of the Turkic world and the development of Türkiye-Azerbaijan brotherhood for decades to come.
Both speakers pointed out that the establishment of the Azerbaijan-Türkiye alliance was an important task for the Great Leader. Under the leadership of Victorious Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, the heroic Azerbaijani army won a historic victory in the 44-day Patriotic War. Brotherly Türkiye has played an unparalleled part in this victory, which opens up clear horizons for the Azerbaijan-Türkiye alliance.
The Minister of Ecology of the Republic of Türkiye, Dr. Ali Talip Ozdemir, Professor Dr. Ozgur Cengel and others spoke about the greatness of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev's personality.
The “100 moments of Heydar Aliyev’s life” book tells about the Great Leader’s day-to-day activities, hard work, high human qualities, devotion to his homeland and people, which raised the savior of Azerbaijan to the status of the National Leader. The text of the Presidential Decree on the declaration of 2023 as a “Year of Heydar Aliyev” in Azerbaijan is published at the beginning of the color edition in two languages. The book is written in the Azerbaijani and English languages and has an elegant design. The articles and some rare photos contained in the publication, which also includes the table of contents, a preface, introduction and bibliography, glorify the unparalleled services of National Leader Heydar Aliyev to the people, homeland, country and state. The materials published in the book give the reader an idea of the Great Leader’s humane principles.
The first presentation of the book “100 moments of Heydar Aliyev’s life” was held at the Ataturk Center in Baku, Azerbaijan, on May 5. The presentation in Istanbul will be followed by ceremonies in Paris and Geneva.
