Western Azerbaijan Community calls on Armenia to engage in dialogue

The Western Azerbaijan Comunity has issued a statement regarding anti-Azerbaijani statements by the press secretary of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, AzVision.az reports.

The statement reads: "The Government of Armenia, through the spokesman of the Prime Minister of this country, has made yet another statement demonstrating hypocrisy in human rights issues and interference in the internal affairs of Azerbaijan.

First of all, we would like to recall that the Government of Armenia forcibly expelled Azerbaijanis from this country on the grounds of ethnic hatred, and destroyed their cultural heritage. The Government of Armenia in every possible way impedes the right of these people to return to their homes and ignores the calls of the Western Azerbaijan Community to start a dialogue on this issue.

Against this background, the Armenian Government's claim that there is a humanitarian problem in the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan, speculation about the rights of Armenians living there, and interference in the internal affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan are nothing but hypocrisy and territorial claims.

We demand from the Armenian government to stop destructive steps and urge to start a dialogue with the Community on the implementation of the right of return."
