Netanyahu congratulated Margvelashvili on his election as the Georgian President.
The sides expressed confidence that the centuries-old friendship between the two peoples will be intensified.
The two sides also called for intensifying the relations between the two countries in the fields of tourism, trade and business.
Netanyahu invited Margvelashvili to pay an official visit to Israel. The newly elected president expressed hope that the visit will take place in the near future.
The Georgian presidential election was held on October 27.
The candidate of the Georgian Dream ruling coalition Giorgi Margvelashvili won the election gaining 62.11 per cent of votes.
The president`s inauguration will be held on November 17.
