France thought that it would repeat what it did in Africa in South Caucasus: Azerbaijani envoy

During the second Karabakh war, France was clearly on the side of Armenia, thinking that it would repeat what it did in Africa in the South Caucasus, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Türkiye, Rashad Mammadov, said during the panel on "Azerbaijan after the victory of Karabakh" held in Ankara, AzVision.az reports.

"In 2015-2016, we knew that Azerbaijan was capable of liberating its lands from occupation. Since then, official Baku has been calling for a peaceful solution to the issue. But Armenia did not agree to this. April battles in 2016 showed that war with Armenia is not difficult for us. Unfortunately, Armenia did not get results from those 4-day battles," he said.
