Azerbaijan to allocate more funds to develop tourism industry

A total of 54.4 million manats ($32 million) is planned to be allocated from the Azerbaijani state budget-2024 to the State Tourism Agency, including 12.1 million manats ($7.1 million) to cover some expenses of Shahdag Tourism Centre to expand opportunities for the tourism industry in Azerbaijan and stimulate the tourism sector in the country’s districts.

Some 25.6 million manats ($15.05 million) are planned to be allocated to take two ongoing measures in 2024 to strengthen strategic, institutional and financial mechanisms for the sustainable development of the tourism sector, AzVision.az reports citing the Azerbaijani state draft and consolidated budgets presented by the Finance Ministry.

This has been outlined in the action plan of the “Socio-economic development strategy of the Azerbaijan Republic for 2022-2026”, approved upon the Azerbaijani President’s decree #3378 dated July 22, 2022.
