The sides discussed the involvement of European companies that are members of the association as developers or investors in the projects to be implemented in Azerbaijan, as well as the possibilities for the production of wind power installations in the country.
The minister informed the delegation about the reforms and projects implemented in Azerbaijan's energy sector, decarbonization goals, as well as the work accomplished within international cooperation towards increasing the share of renewable energy sources in the country's energy balance and export. He also noted that Azerbaijan attaches great importance to the development of the use of wind energy, which has a rich potential in the Caspian Sea and coastal areas, adding that many leading energy companies have great interest in this area.
Highlighting the activities of the association, Giles Dickson stressed the importance of implementing the Green Energy Corridor against the background of the growing demand for electricity in Europe. He also expressed the readiness of WindEurope to cooperate with Azerbaijan to expand ties with European companies for the development of the use of wind energy potential.
