During the 60th session of the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC-60) held in Istanbul, Türkiye, on January 16-19, an Azerbaijani delegation engaged in discussions with IPCC Chair Jim Skea and IPCC Deputy Secretary Emira Fida, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources told reporters.
The talks focused on collaborative efforts between Azerbaijan and the IPCC for the organization of the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) in Baku. Discussions also touched upon hosting thematic conferences with the participation of scientists.
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is the United Nations body for assessing the science related to climate change.
