Azerbaijan demands liberation of 4 occupied villages

Azerbaijan demands the liberation of the four villages which were occupied by Armenia, said Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev.

Seven meetings of the delimitation commissions established by Azerbaijan and Armenia have already taken place. Currently, the commissions are working on creating the necessary legal framework to conduct delimitation activities.

"Recently, Armenian media have been actively disseminating false information originating from government sources," the Azerbaijani office stated. "These reports claim that lands belonging to 31 Armenian villages are 'under occupation' by Azerbaijan."

The statement clarifies that Azerbaijan rejects these claims. It emphasizes that until the state border is officially delimited, it is unfounded to declare any territory "occupied." Azerbaijan rejects Armenia's claims, stating it's unfounded to speak of occupied territories before border delimitation is complete.

The status of four other exclave villages (Yukhari Eskipara, Sofulu, Barkhudarli, and Karki) will be addressed within the framework of the delimitation process.
