“An independent and principled foreign policy is our main direction,” said President Ilham Aliyev as he addressed the first session of the seventh convocation of the Milli Majlis.
“We have never done anything against anyone, we have never interfered in anyone's affairs. But we have always taught a lesson to those who wanted to interfere in our business. There are and will be such attempts. It is true that they don't mean anything. However, this factor will certainly always be taken into account in our foreign policy. Whoever wants to cooperate with us in a bilateral format, on the basis of mutual respect, we will double our cooperation. But if someone thinks that they will come and dictate their will to us, that they will accuse us without grounds or that they will defame us by some means and we will be friends with these countries as if nothing had happened, this is a wrong idea, this will not happen,” the head of state emphasized.
