Azerbaijan, Türkiye sign document on livestock cooperation

The ministries of agriculture of Azerbaijan and Türkiye have signed a Declaration of Intentions to enhance collaboration in the field of animal husbandry and animal health, AzVision.az reports citing the ministry’s press service.

The agreement follows a meeting between Azerbaijani Agriculture Minister Majnun Mammadov and Turkish Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Ibrahim Yumakli, who is on a working visit to Azerbaijan.

Minister Mamedov emphasized that the friendly and brotherly relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye continue to flourish in various sectors, including agriculture, agrarian research, education, cotton cultivation, seed production, veterinary medicine, and agricultural insurance.

Minister Yumakli expressed Türkiye’s keen interest in collaborating with Azerbaijan in the agricultural field, expressing confidence in the ongoing expansion of cooperation between the two countries.

The discussions covered future collaboration in agriculture, agricultural research, livestock management, enhancing animal health cooperation, and training specialists in veterinary medicine.

Within the framework of the meeting between the Ministry of Agriculture of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Türkiye, a Declaration of Intentions to strengthen cooperation in the field of animal husbandry and animal health was signed.

The signed agreement outlines plans for experience exchange in animal disease control, joint training sessions, research initiatives, health assessments, investment attraction in livestock, and strengthening connections between businesspeople in this sector, as noted in the ministry's statement.
