On 27 September – Remembrance Day, leadership of the Ministry of Defense, servicemen of the Azerbaijan Army and cadets of military institutions under the National Defense University visited the graves of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and Martyrs, the Ministry of Defense reported.

Roses were laid at the monument of the National Leader in the Alley of Honor and his memory was commemorated with reverence.

The leadership of the Ministry visited the grave of esteemed ophthalmologist and academician Zarifa Aliyeva and paid respect by laying roses.

Subsequently, the Alley of Shehids was visited. Bunches of flowers were placed at the graves of Martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, as well as at the Eternal Flame monument.

Then in the Second Alley of Shehids the leadership and personnel of the Ministry of Defense laid roses at graves of the Heroes, who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of the Motherland, honoring their memory with profound respect and reverence.

The Minister of Defense, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, along with senior officials from the Ministry, convened with the families and relatives of the Martyrs and enquired about their concerns. The families expressed appreciation for the support and attention provided by the state leadership.

At 12:00, the Ministry of Defense leadership, accompanied by military personnel and the families of the Martyrs, honored their blessed memory with a minute of silence at the Second Alley of Shehids.
