CIS Foreign Ministers’ Council ends in Moscow

Jeyhun Bayramov, Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, attended a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), held in Moscow on Monday.

Addressing the event, Jeyhun Bayramov touched upon the cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, transport and communications, artificial intelligence, humanitarian and youth within the CIS, as well as the Presidency of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29).

FM Bayramov underlined that Azerbaijan attaches special importance to the “Cultural capital of the Union” initiative. The minister said that the decision to be adopted by heads of states on declaring the city of Lachin as the cultural capital of the CIS next year would allow to host the joint large-scale projects and events in the field of culture this year.

Highlighting Azerbaijan’s COP29 Presidency, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov emphasized that Azerbaijan is conducting large-scale activities to ensure that the negotiation process and preparations make a significant contribution to global climate action.
