Hezbollah drone attack on Israeli military site kills four soldiers

At least four Israeli soldiers have been killed and 61 others injured in a Hezbollah drone attack on an army base in northern Israel, marking the deadliest Hezbollah strike on Israel since the outbreak of the Gaza conflict.

The attack, according to Hezbollah, was in retaliation for a major Israeli airstrike on the Lebanese capital, Beirut, that occurred on October 10, AzVision.az reports, citing foreign media.

Prior to the attack, the Israeli side reported that rocket sirens were triggered in multiple cities across northern Israel, including Haifa, Acre, and Nahariya, as rockets were launched from Lebanon on October 13 morning.

The alarms began at 9:01 a.m., with the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) confirming that five rockets had crossed into Israeli territory, but all were successfully intercepted by defence systems. "Several rockets were fired into Israel, but all were neutralised by our defence systems," an IDF spokesperson reported.

The Israel Air Force (IAF) launched a series of airstrikes on Hezbollah positions in Lebanon, marking a significant escalation in the conflict. The IAF targeted approximately 200 Hezbollah sites, which included rocket launchers, terror cells, and military infrastructure.

"We have struck deep inside Lebanon, hitting critical Hezbollah positions," an Israeli military official
