North Korea severs all transportation links with South Korea

Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) has completely severed road and rail connections with the Republic of Korea (ROK) on both the eastern and western sides of the Korean Peninsula.

The General Staff of the Korean People's Army has taken measures to "completely physically sever the roads and railways leading to South Korea on the territory of the DPRK in the eastern and western regions of the southern border" as part of its policy to "completely separate the territorial limits under the state authority of the DPRK from the territory of the ROK," AzVision.az reports, citing KNCA.

This development comes after the General Staff of the Korean People's Army announced on October 9 that it would block roads and railways with the ROK and "turn the southern border into a fortress."
