Pedro Agramunt elected PACE President
He will begin to perform his duties in January 2016
Today, after the plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the European People`s Party (EPP) held elections for the post of chairman of the PACE session, which will take place in January 2016.

Candidates were Spanish diplomat, former co-rapporteur on Azerbaijan Pedro Agramunt and a representative of France, former PACE President Jean-Claude Mignon. 109 parliamentarians attended the voting. Pedro Agramunt took 75 votes against 30 and was elected the next chairman of the PACE.

According to the internal procedure of the PACE, the chairmanship of the organization is transferred to the European People`s Party Presidency after the alliance of Liberals and Democrats.
