Algeria demands France to eliminate consequences of nuclear tests

Paris must take full responsibility for eliminating the consequences of the nuclear explosions carried out in the Algerian desert during the colonial period, Saleh Goudjil, Speaker of the Council of the Nation (Parliament’s upper house) of Algeria, AzVision.az informs, citing Report news agency.

"Algeria's position is to demand that France fully assume responsibility for eliminating the consequences of the nuclear explosions carried out by French colonialists in the Algerian desert during the colonial period," Goudjil highlighted.

"The Algerian people, especially residents of the regions where these explosions were carried out, continue to suffer from their harmful consequences to this day," the speaker added.
