The participants of the second meeting of the heads of committees on health issues of TURKPA member parliaments have today visited the Alley of Honors and the Alley of Martyrs in Baku.
The delegation first visited the Alley of Honors to pay tribute to National Leader, architect and founder of the modern and independent Azerbaijani state Heydar Aliyev, and laid flowers at his grave.
The delegation then proceeded to the Alley of Martyrs to commemorate Azerbaijani heroes who sacrificed their lives for the country’s independence and territorial integrity, and put flowers at their graves.
The guests enjoyed a panoramic view from the highest point of Baku and were informed about the history of the Alley of Martyrs and the redevelopment work carried out in the city.
The delegation also visited the “Turkish Martyrdom” monument erected in memory of the heroic Turkish soldiers who died in the battles for the liberation of Baku from the Bolshevik-Armenian Dashnak troops in 1918, and placed flowers at the monument.
