Military Administration Institute of the National Defense University held an event dedicated to the 1st edition of the Staff Officers Course, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defense told reporters.

“The event commemorated the bright memory of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and Martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. The National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was performed.

The Rector of the National Defense University, Major General Gunduz Abdulov extended his congratulations to the officers who successfully completed the course on behalf of the Ministry of Defense leadership and wished them success in their future endeavors. In his address, Major General G.Abdulov provided a comprehensive overview of the ongoing reforms in the Azerbaijan Army, with a particular focus on the modernization of the military management education system. He emphasized that the Staff Officers Course will play a significant role in training officers for their service responsibilities.

Speaking on behalf of the graduates, the top graduate of the course, Major Tural Abbasov expressed his gratitude to the leadership of the Ministry of Defense and the National Defense University, as well as to the teaching staff, for the excellent learning environment, the high-level organization and delivery of the course.

At the conclusion, certificates were presented to the military personnel who completed the course.

It is worth mentioning that the Staff Officers Course is of key components of the newly established military management education system, which was developed as part of comprehensive reforms aimed at training professional military personnel capable of meeting contemporary challenges. This system is based on the Lifelong Education Concept and includes consistent, complementary systematic educational opportunities spread throughout the entire service period to prepare military personnel of the Azerbaijan Army for their next positions. The courses implemented within the framework of the military management education system are as follows:

- Senior Staff Warrant Officers Course for the preparation of warrant officers who will serve in the headquarters of the troops (force);

- Basic Staff Officers Course at battalion level;

- Staff Officers Course at brigade level;

- Administration academic course at the corps and army level;

- Joint management course at the strategic level between the types of troops (force);

- Strategic Leadership and National Security Course for senior officers;

- Academic course on strategic research and state defense management at the military-political level;

- Master's degree programs in the fields of "Military and State Defense Management" and "Management," the ministry said.
