"We understand that no country should be locked in one common space. Therefore we are working out the Single Eurasian Sky program, as there is no alternative to integration," Akhmetov stressed.
The minister believes that the project will allow to turn the air space of the Eurasian Economic Union into a relevant transit bridge between Europe and South East Asia and other continents.
The project envisages the creation of a common aviation services market and a single zone of air transport. At the same time, the minister pointed out that the Single European Sky project will be implemented in stages.
"We should understand that currently, the aviation of Kazakhstan and Belarus is not able to compete with Russia`s aviation. Therefore, the program will envisage a phasing, creating a competitive environment and so on," Akhmetov said.
