"Air France is illustrating its ambition to expand in a country with buoyant growth, as the European Union is Iran`s fourth most important economic partner," said the statement.
Air France operated flights to Tehran from 1946 until October 2008, when they were suspended amid UN and EU sanctions against Iran over its nuclear program.
Under a deal clinched in July between Iran and the world powers, the nuclear sanctions imposed by the west on Tehran will be lifted in return for scaling down the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program.
