Ukrainian club Dnipro faces European ban over $1.9M debt
Dnipro has until Jan. 31 to make the payments or UEFA will ban the club from the next European competition it qualifies for in the next three seasons.
Dnipro, which was eliminated from this season`s Europa League in the group stage, has to pay a fine of 100,000 euros.
Dnipropetrovsk has been affected by the political and economic turbulence that has rocked Ukraine.
Dnipro has been tangled up in Ukraine`s political rivalries through its owner, billionaire Ihor Kolomoyskiy, who has funded volunteer battalions to fight pro-Russian separatists.
